DietBet Results, Goals, and Follow Through Friday II

HoooLeeee Crap! I did it! I made my 1st ever Diet Bet! I can't believe it. I weighed in this weekend and while I've had a steady decline it wasn't moving too fast. If I stayed on pace there was no way I was going to make it. So I had to step it up. I upped my cardio and really focused on lean proteins and veggies with the occasional carb here and there. Then what happened??? Down 3 pounds! Boom! Here's a result pic.
Yes they're horrible, No I don't have another full length mirror but I will be getting one this weekend.

Here's how it went down.

YES MA'AM thank you Baby Jesus!! All my hard work and dedication is paying off. I'm more committed to this journey this time around than I have ever been. I'm excited to start a new month and see where my hard work gets me.

As for my Follow Thru Friday Goals let's see how I did last week.

  • Continue to log everything into MFP (jenn577) - done!
  • Continue water intake 5-24oz - done!
  • Add in elliptical after morning #jmdvdchallenge - I think adding in some cardio taking my morning workouts to 45 minutes or so really helped this week.
  • At least 8 workouts in the next 8 days. Some days I may can double up but be sure to get a daily burn on. A workout is considered something I've dedicated at least 30 minutes to, with a 6 mo I'm doing good to do something 30 minutes at a time. - I did 7 instead of 8 but still a solid effort
  • Get the jogging stroller out at least 3 times (dependent on weather) Mother Nature can't make up her damn mind. It was cold as balls here this week so me and the little man didn't get out. We did go for a run on Sunday and it was GLORIOUS!!
  • Finish Dietbet strong. I need to lose 2 more pounds this week. I'm going to buckle down and plan and prep like a boss and get it done. - Boom! Nailed this sucker!

  • I am on top of the world today. Seriously. I can't wait to get back at it. Here are next week and next month's goals
    • Don't post a gain. It is Superbowl weekend and I like all the bad things when I'm drinking beer and watching football.
    • Schedule my monthly workouts. Ripped in 30, 6wk 6 pack, yoga, etc
    • Get 3 runs in either with the baby boy or not. I'm signing up for a 5k at the end of March and need to get to pounding the road
    • 7 workouts in the next 7 days
    February Goals and Rewards
    • 24 workouts in 28 days = new shoes (I'm eyeing some cross training type of shoe since I think my running shoes are still ok)
    • Down 10 pounds = massage & facial KB got me for Christmas. This month with my 4% I earned a much needed mani/pedi
    • Press my Diet bet and work and lose another 4%. This would take me well into the 150s where I haven't been in a long time.
    Ok, let's do this...

    Finish Strong

I'm finishing up the #jmdvdchallenge strong. I'm really liking the videos and since I scheduled out my whole month ahead of time it's nice not having to think about what workout I want to do. I'm ready to shelve 30 Day Shred for a while. I rewarded myself with Ripped in 30 for next month so we'll see how that goes. I'm also going to add in 6 week 6 pack.

I may or may not meet my diet bets I have going. It's not for lack of trying though. I've made huge changes to my daily life and have had consistent losses each week. I may be a pound or pound and 1/2 off and that's ok. I can't wait to take my measurements. I'll take a loss in a pant size over a few pounds any day.

I was able to get in a couple of runs the past couple of weeks and I love it. It's definitely harder with the stroller but since I've been working out and eating right I feel stronger than ever and like I could run for miles. If mother nature would make up her damn mind I would get a few more in. Cold/Beautiful/Cold/Beautiful My brother & I are signing up for the Bearathon 5k at the end of March and I'm pumped. I'm planning on taking Colt and having a great time.

I can't believe I've dedicated myself and stuck with something for a month. What else is possible? I WILL have my BETTER BODY AFTER BABY in NO TIME!

    Follow Through Friday I

So I'm going to do my first ever link up with these beautiful ladies...

    FatChick2FitChick

I'm really trying to get back into the blogging world. I've seen how much blogging has helped everyone have a successful journey and I'm excited to try it myself on my "Better Body after Baby" adventure. So.. Goals for the week.. Here we go...

    OVERALL GOALS
    • Continue to log everything into MFP (jenn577)
    • Continue water intake 5-24oz
    • Add in elliptical after morning #jmdvdchallenge
    • At least 8 workouts in the next 8 days. Some days I may can double up but be sure to get a daily burn on. A workout is considered something I've dedicated at least 30 minutes to, with a 6 mo I'm doing good to do something 30 minutes at a time.
    • Get the jogging stroller out at least 3 times (dependent on weather)
    • Finish Dietbet strong. I need to lose 2 more pounds this week. I'm going to buckle down and plan and prep like a boss and get it done.

    Weigh-In

I'm down a POUND!! This is HUGE! This was Kb's birthday week so we went out twice. Once for pizza and once for Mexican food. AND it was bunco week so 3 dinners I didn't prepare myself. PLUS we went to the deer lease this past weekend. (deer lease = beer) I was just so excited I didn't gain!! I knew the nights we were going out and tried to prepare my day around them. I also added in a little bit of elliptical after my morning workouts just to up my calorie burn.

I let myself have a piece of pizza and a couple of beers and when we went out for Mexican I got the tortilla soup. I LOOOOVE the tortilla soup at El Con so I didn't feel deprived. I also got a beer that night too. It was the Hubs b-day!! I gotta live, right? I really think this means I'm getting this whole "everything in moderation" thing down. I'm so proud of myself. I only have 2 pounds to go to meet my diet bet and we have NO plans to go out next week so I'll meal plan and prep like a boss and work my ass off.

    Let's DO THIS!!

    Don't mind if a brag...

Well another week in and it's going great so far. I'm in 2 diet bets and I may or may not make my weight loss but I'm not too worried about it. It's not for lack of trying. I'm made some serious changes that are becoming routine and for that I'm grateful. I know I've lost some inches and I'm dying to measure next week.

    Here's a little brag list...
    • I've done 21 workouts in the past 23 days
    • I've made a habit of getting up and doing the workouts before work. I get up around 5-530 and do my #jmdvdchallenge video and this week have added in some elliptical to take my workouts until around 615. I don't even think about getting up anymore I just do it. I love getting it done in the morning since I know I won't have time in the evening and if I do have a little time, it's a bonus workout.
    • I'm consistently logging into MyFitnessPal.com (jenn577) and using it to plan my day. This was Korey's birthday week and while I let myself indulge a little I logged all my calories so I could plan my day around it so it wouldn't set me back too far.
    • I'm meal planning and prepping like a champ.
    Here are a few NSVs
    • This weekend on the way to the deer lease I convinced myself I deserved a snack. I didn't want a good snack either. I wanted Hot Fries or Cheetos or something like that. I went in and thought "No one will know what I get" & "You've worked hard and been keeping to your plan this won't hurt" you know what I walked away with?? Pistachios. Boom.
    • I haven't taken measurements but I'm sure I'm down quite a few inches. My pants are fitting better. Those extra boobs on my back are getting smaller and overall I feel leaner. I'm getting there.. one day at a time..
Rounding out the month: Goals and Rewards
    • I've really enjoyed the JM videos and as a reward to myself for keeping up with my workouts I'm going to buy Ripped in 30 to add into the rotation.
    • I'm going to schedule my workouts again for February. I'm going to add in 6 week 6 pack (available on Amazon Prime) just for added torture.
    • Once I reach my 4% whether it's at the end of the month or not I'm treating myself to my pedicure Korey got me for Christmas.
I'm working on my goals for next month and will post once this month is over. I can't wait to post my progress. Stay tuned!

And because I haven't put him out here in a while. Here's a couple of the latest pics of my little man. He makes me smile everyday.

    Just keep going.

Just a quick update... I'm a week in and I've lost 20 pounds! Yeah, right.. Why is it I think all this hard work I put in for a WEEK would result in some drastic weight loss. I mean, I didn't gain it all overnight why am I disappointed that meal planning, prepping and working out for a week ONLY resulted in a 2 pound loss. I say 'only' in jest because I know how hard I worked to get off 7000 calories. I know how easy I could shove 7000 calories in my pie-hole and working them off was a lot harder. I wasn't perfect but I'm keeping at it.

I look to all of those that motivate me and honestly they have a lot more to lose than I do and some of them have done this whole planning/prepping/working out for 52 weeks or more. And they're still going! Good weeks and bad they keep going. That's what inspires me and lets me know that I can do it too. Just keep going.

This week I meal planned, Kb meal prepped with me in the kitchen and I have the rest of January lined out with my #JMDVDCHALLENGE. This whole "have a plan" thing is actually working out ok...so far..I have to just keep going...

So I will get up and workout when I can, eat according to my plan when I can and just do what I can do. Small changes will result in one big change one of these days.

I still owe myself some goals, I'm working on that. This whole "working mom" thing is no joke. Where does time go?

    I am a Food-a-holic

Kinda like an alcoholic but with food. At least that's the realization I came to this weekend...

We have a guy on our deer lease, T,  that's an alcoholic. Like real bad. Like get up in the morning and drink whatever's left out from the night before. 1/2 drank beers, whatever's left in the whisky bottle on the table, bottles of beer that have been left out in the sun. It doesn't matter, he drinks it.

He tries to hide it from his wife. Like that's even possible. You know when someone's had too much to drink. He has so much alcohol in his system it doesn't even take him much of the leftovers before he's a stumblin, mumblin drunk. He has a stash of empty vodka bottles in a bush on the way to his stand. He's stashed empty bottles in the kids fort. It's sad, really.

But I can relate.. I've tried to hide my actions from people too. I've bought a bag of hot fries that I made sure to eat before I got home and hid the evidence in the trash. I've thrown away old cupcakes I was proud I didn't eat but not before I had one more cupcake top. This weekend Kb asked if I wanted a Star Crunch and I said "No, you know I'm watching what I eat" but after he was gone I snuck one out, ate it and hid the evidence.

All this to say everyone can tell by watching T that he's a drunk. Everyone can tell by looking at my ass that I don't eat right and workout all the time like it seems. Neither one of us are fooling anyone but ourselves.

I'm making a vow right now to STOP hiding. If I'm embarrassed for someone to find out what I'm eating, here's a crazy idea.. "DON'T EAT IT"

I've planned my meals this week and my workouts. I made a calendar and am highlighting my accomplishments. Looking back on that should give me the confidence to keep going.

I AM GOING TO HAVE A BETTER BODY AFTER BABY. That is my motto for 2014.
